Shawn F. Hood provides Design services to meet the needs of the customer, whether you desire a Shawn F. Hood Custom Designed Home, or a change to an existing floorplan. We approach your design needs in three phases. These phases are:

1. Programming

    • Meet with Owners at site for site investigation
    • Meet as necessary to determine the size, location, and relationship of spaces.
    • Discuss style, needs, and wants.
    • Discuss anticipated budget and projected schedules.

      2. Design and Preliminary Drawings

        • Prepare conceptual design of floor plan, elevations, and site plan.
        • Amend as required incorporating Owner's input.
        • Ensure that projected design meets all subdivision covenants and restrictions.
        • Secure Owner's approval to proceed with working drawings.

          3. Construction Documents

            • Prepare set of working drawings suitable for permits, construction, mortgage, and interim lenders. Set will include dimensioned site plan, foundation plan (w/structural engineering is required, professional fee will be added to contract amount, floor plan, elevations, necessary interior elevations, framing plans and details, door and window schedule, finish schedule, electrical plan and details.
            • Specifications
            • Designer will provide Owners with four sets of blueprints and specifications.
